Tried & True used to be first conceived around 1990 when a master cabinet maker in upstate New York became concerned over the amount of toxins that he used to be exposed to each day and thought, “How did people create pieces that last hundreds of years in a time when todays solvents and chemicals were unknown?” This question led to years of research centered around Shaker and early American woodworking and finishing, resulting in a line of products based on natural linseed (flax) oil and additives (beeswax, pine resin) that would have been to be had on an early American frontier with no modern processing. Every Tried & True product is made from 100% renewable ingredients and free from all solvents, has 0 VOCs, no synthetic compounds, no toxic heavy metal drying agents or anything else that may be harmful to humans, pets or planet.

The Cherry is the most red tone stain that Tried & True and will instantly impart the color of aged cherry wood to your project. The final color will be color of the stain + the wet color of the wood. Stir before each use!
